The Risen Life of Christ becomes more and more interior to us as we hear on Sunday how Christ and the Father will come and make their home in us.
The Fifth Sunday of Easter marks the shift from the first of the two things St. John's Gospel asks of us: Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, to the second, the new commandment Jesus gives that We love one another as he loves us. Through our life as a parish we seek to implement this second in what we do both within and beyond our congregation.
The Fourth Sunday of Easter is known as "Good Shepherd Sunday," due to the Gospel reading which is always part of the Good Shepherd Discourses from the 10th Chapter of the Gospel of St. John. It's all part of coming to understand who the Risen Christ really is.
On the Third Sunday of Easter, the disciples go fishing. Our life is normalized too with the various tasks that make up Parish Life, yet like them, the meal on the beach or the meal on the altar reminds of who we do this for and why.
We enter the long Easter Season where we grow to become the presence of the Risen Christ in the world
