We close out the Christmas season by a celebration of Epiphany commemorating the arrival of the Magi which tells us that the Incarnation is revealed to all humankind
O Wisdom, you came forth from the mouth of the Most High and, reaching from beginning to end, you ordered all things mightily and sweetly. Come, and teach us the way of prudence. The first of the Great O Antiphons, recited between December 17 and Christmas reminds us that the fulfillment of this longing, met by Christ's coming is approaching fast. We finish our Advent preparations for the celebration of Christmas
The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad, the desert shall rejoice and blossom. Like the Rose it shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice with joy and singing. Isaiah 35:1-2 On the Third Sunday of Advent we light the Rose colored candle on the Advent Wreath as a sign of the joy we feel as we anticipate Christ's coming at Christmas. In this joy we continue our activities of preparation for this greatest of all gifts.
We continue our journey through Advent with activities and reflections to help us prepare to greet with joy the coming of Jesus Christ our redeemer.
The glory of the Lord has shone upon us and shall be ever manifest among us until the day of Christ's return. Through the rhythms of time and the change of seasons let us call to mind and live the mysteries of our salvation.
