January 17, The Second Sunday After Epiphany

On The Second Sunday after Epiphany, we encounter the Third Moment of Epiphany, the showing of God in the person of Jesus Christ in the story of the Wedding at Cana where Jesus "manifested his glory and his disciples believed in him." We also move closer to our Annual Parish Meeting at the end of the month.

January 10, Baptism of the Lord

The Baptism of the Lord is the second of the three moments of Epiphany, the Manifestation of God in Christ to the whole world. We have a 12th Night Concert Sunday afternoon by the Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble. We resume our ongoing activities and prepare for the the parish's Annual Meeting at the end of January

January 3, 2016  Epiphany

This Sunday we celebrate Epiphany which means "Manifestation." It is about the showing, revealing, manifesting of the Incarnation to the entire world, which is to say that the gift God makes of himself at Christmas is for all people in all times and places. It marks the end of the Christmas season, though this year a bit early being 9 days instead of 12. We take down the Christmas decorations in the Church, we have an Open House at the Rectory in the afternoon to enjoy each other as a parish community.

For Christmas Eve we have two wonderful services that enact our commitment that Church of the Angels be a place where all people can live the Christian life in depth and experience joy in doing so. We have a description of our Children's Liturgy at 4:30, and our Festive Choral Eucharist at 10:00 p.m.

December 20, The Fourth Sunday of Advent

The Fourth Sunday of Advent is the Final Sunday before Christmas. We close out Advent with a Celebration of Advent Lessons and Carols at the 10:15 Service. The day before we decorate the Church. We finish up collecting the books for the school in Uganda and make final preparations for Christmas Eve
